Improve Your Recruiting Efforts in a Home Based Business
By Darrell Lischka

How did your recruiting efforts go in your home based business for 2008?

There are a variety of ways to recruit people into your business opportunity. We have all seen the ads on the internet, read about it and heard about the latest and greatest ways to bring in 5, 10, or 15 people every week from the so called guru’s in the network marketing industry. The reality is, most people would be very excited if they could bring in even 2 to 4 people consistently every month.

The fact is recruiting is the lifeblood of your business. You can’t create a solid business unless you either sponsor enough new business affiliates and/or bring in new customers. It’s interesting how many people focus solely on bringing in business builders and forget about just having new customers. When you are building your home based business, you want both business builders and customers.

I’m sure you have heard about individuals that have achieved great success in only 3 to 6 months after joining XYZ company. However, did you ever consider how they actually achieved so much success in a short period of time? Chances are they came into that company with a large circle of contacts. So don’t compare their results with yours.

So what do you do if you do not have a large contact base or credibility with people?

My suggestion is to create one. Now this won’t be quick or easy to do. However, by staying focused and being dedicated, one can create a large circle of friends that respect them and over time some will join you in your home based business. As leaders, its our responsibility to bring new people in the right way and to teach them correct business building strategies.

There are dozens of methods to use and everyone has their own techniques and strategies on recruiting. First, you could go out to one of the leads companies who specialize in business opportunity leads and purchase one of their packages, then start calling those prospects. I have done that before with basically zero results. One thing to note on leads as a general rule. They have a very low success rate, so if you have deep pockets and don’t mind calling hundreds and possibly thousands of people to build a business, then go for it. I would suggest you stop wasting your money by buying leads.

There are other ways to create your own leads that are unique to you. I have used a system called Veretekk. It’s a marketing system that is designed to help you create your own premium leads. Just Google Veretekk and sign up for a free system via their home company page. They offer a variety of free training on SEO and other internet strategies.

Second, some people really like the 3 foot rule and face to face interactions. I know of many people who have built large and successful home based businesses by this method. In fact, the highest success rate is still face to face. For example, you can attend chamber of commerce etc meetings, network meetings in your local area, personal development seminars are great places to meet and mingle with like minded individuals.

Have you ever considered calling business professionals like Real Estate professionals, mortgage brokers and insurance agents. Why you might ask? Think about it for a moment. What do all 3 have in common? They are in sales and get paid for production. So they understand that if you want to be successful in your own business opportunity, they will need to bring in new people and customers.

Third, is to shake hands online and get to know people and create an online presence via social networking. The social networking has grown exponentially over the past few years like Facebook, MySpace, Squidoo etc. Now this will take time doing anything online, especially when people can’t see you face to face. So again, its investing time in people that will win you your financial freedom.

Haven’t quit yet? Still interested in a freedom income? Cool! Keep reading…

It’s a numbers game. Have you heard that before? Exposure, it’s always about exposure. People buy WHO we are, not what we have. You don’t have to be anything you are not, everybody has unique gifts and abilities. Just BE you. Don’t think for a minute you have to come across as Mr. or Mrs. Network Marketer who has a really successful home based business if that is not the case.

Once you have done enough of this you will have created a list of new friends that respect you. Your objective should be to develop your list to about 150 friends that you have had actual telephone conversations with. Do you realize how many people they could refer you to? Thousands! In one year, out of 150 friends, you can be assured that 3 or 4 will be looking for an opportunity every month. Which ones? Who knows, the only way to find out is by staying in touch and being a friend. People will know if you are being legitimate or trying to fake it. Be yourself and be a friend.

From my observation, the Law of Averages guarantees at least one person a month will join you in your home based business. It’s a lot of work before results start showing up. This is why most people quit and stay broke. It does not matter what program you are in, if you recruit one solid person in this manner every month, one day you will have an awesome freedom income.

From my perspective, being part of a team of like minded people sharing a similar vision of the future, being passionate about a product mission in an environment that inspires, encourages and teaches is the most effective method to accomplish this. Network Marketing is not for everybody. It takes a lot sweat equity to make it happen. Are you up for the challenge and will you be one of the success stories in your company.

Make it a great day

It is highly likely we are all aware by now that there are an unlimited ways to have a home based business opportunity. One of those ways is to work with Ebay. Here are some beginning tips to get you started.

An eBay user ID is required for people to communicate with you. You can now make money here through trading in any items you can find. Although you must ensure that you understand how to carry out any trading before you start. Your eBay user ID gives credibility to your line of work on eBay. Your ID should give potential customers an idea what products you are dealing in.

If there is any guarantee, including money back, include that also. You should take into consideration many components that can related to your offer. Find out what sports activities are in season. If you are conversant with the game of chess, you can offer unique chess sets on eBay. If you like dolls, you can offer exquisite dolls of your country on eBay. You may want to sell electronics if you are a fan. If you know a lot about what you sell you will be successful.

Anything that is legal can be sold. Search your house for items you don’t need. Decide on which one you wish to put on eBay and start trading. Leave alone the big cumbersome objects and concentrate only on the small ones. These objects will have to be washed, dried, dusted or polished to ensure they are decent for sale. Continuous effort must be carried out to put the products in tip top decent condition. Dust all objects. All silverware should be polished. If you fail to expose the damage in your advertisement, the product will be returned and you lose in the transaction as you will have to cover transportation costs. Be professional and you will have a successful home based business for a long time.

Take a good photograph of the merchandise you wish to sell. Cutting costs down benefits you in the short run but professionalism draws many customers in the long run and you make a lot of money on eBay. Never try to cut corners by taking the photos yourself and then try getting an amateur to transfer the pictures onto a CD. Sound sincere and friendly and your write up will go a long way. Then you will have to write a short but accurate description of the product – it will be good to do this at the beginning to save time. In fact, why not get eBay to write the ad for you?

Lastly – picking out the company for delivery is your choice but make sure you arrange with your courier service to cover for unexpected claims that clients may come up with.

You may be doing alright with your home based business opportunity but would you like to build your business like clockwork without having to recruit constantly. A team of like minded people have found a company that helps them do that and they are building their business month in and month out. How is that? They have found a company that allows them to purchase customers. So, depending on your budget, you can determine how fast you want to build your business by buying customers every month. Is an Affiliate Program right for Your Home Based Business Opportunity

Posted on January 2nd, 2009 in Work From Home | No Comments »

The best benefit of affiliate programs is that when you are just starting out in your own home based business you don’t have to worry about having your own product or service. You just promote someone else’s and get a share of the revenue pie for your efforts.

Also you don’t have to deal with warehousing, transport or logistics headaches. All of this is handled by the business whose products or services you are promoting. All you need to do is concentrate on driving traffic to that business’s website. This means that a high proportion of your income is profit.

The owner of the product or service is also responsible for collecting payment, customer service and the numerous other details that come up on a day to day basis in operation of the business.

The main and evident disadvantage of affiliate programs is that it is the owner of the product or service who earns the most of the profit on the sales.

You’re working on commission. You will NEVER earn by way of affiliate program commissions as much as you can earn by way of profits from producing and selling your own product or business opportunity.

As a result, affiliate programs represent a high opportunity cost when you consider what you could earn if you instead channeled the time and energy you spend on promoting affiliate programs into creating and promoting your own creation.

Instead, think of them as a way of dipping your toe in the water when you’re first getting started and a nice little sideline once you’ve created your own product or service. Do NOT build your business around affiliate programs with the intention this will always be the backbone of your business. You’ll be stunting your own growth if you do.

So, keeping in mind what affiliate programs can and can’t do for your business, let’s turn to what you should look for when choosing an affiliate program to promote in your home based business. Select programs that naturally complement the subject matter of your site and that will therefore be of interest and relevance to your site visitors. This will ensure your prospects are pre-qualified which will result in a relatively higher conversion ratio of visitors to customers than would be the case if your traffic is untargeted (which will be the case if you promote site-unrelated products and services.)

Look for quality programs first and foremost. The last thing you want to waste your time, money and reputation on is a shoddy product or service. There are just too many quality programs out there to settle for anything less. Look for a company that’s been around for a while and that’s reputable and stable (both financially and in its management). Any reputable company will have full contact details readily available so do your research.

Look for a professional, considered and detailed affiliate agreement (contract). This shows that the company is serious about its business. Check for exclusivity clauses and other restraints. Some affiliate agreements will require that you not promote competing businesses’ products and services. This is not to say you should avoid such agreements. As a general rule, it is your interests not to promote competing programs anyway. Just be aware of what the agreement says on the subject to avoid getting yourself into trouble.

Promoting someone else’s affiliate program necessarily requires that you divert traffic away from your site and towards someone else’s. Make sure you’re properly compensated with a high commission structure. Also, look for affiliate programs that will credit you with not only THIS sale but all other sales the customer may make in the future. Many programs are set up so that the customer is identified as “yours” so that when the customer returns to the target site in three months time, the sale is recorded as having been generated by you. Look for programs that allow you real-time access to your stats so you can keep easy track of your commissions.

Find out what the business’s record is on paying out commissions. If they’re slow or there appears to be a pattern of problems, move on. Make a note of payment schedules too. Some programs pay weekly, some monthly, some quarterly. Some only pay once you accumulate commissions of a certain amount. None of these arrangements are necessarily good or bad. Just be sure you know what to expect.

Finally, take a good look at what support the business offers its affiliates to make sales. Do they provide the necessary resources to promote, such as sample ads, banners, logos and the like? Do they provide useful advice about maximizing your sales? A good affiliate program provides affiliates with lots of support in these areas. I work with a team that provides support in all of these areas and so much more. With us you are never left hanging not knowing where to turn. With round the clock support help for your home based business opportunity is just a click away.

Make Money Online

Organize Your Paper Work

After 25+ years being in business for myself, I have learned a few lessons along the way. Six years ago I moved from what you’d call a ‘brick and mortar’ business to learn how to make money online and began my study of web and internet SEO techniques, marketing skills, web design and more. Some of the lessons have been hard earned and money down the drain. I now look at those as some type of very expensive training session. Got to keep a sense of humor and LEARN with every thing that happens by my choices. One of my best choices might seem minor to you but it wasn’t for me. I was not very organized, had stacks of paperwork everywhere. So I hired a professional organizer and she was worth her weight in ‘gold’. Here are some of the tips that will help you no matter what type of business you choose.

Time is money and money saved is equal to money earned. When you are spending time looking for things it is easy to get frustrated and $$$ are flying out the window as time is wasted.

Step One: Moving paper around is a part of business, I call it the necessary evil, but over time I’ve learned that the less paper I have and the less time it is handled, the easier to manage.

When computers first came out we all thought, thank goodness, less paper to deal with. Well, it is quite the opposite for some. All home business people have paper and printing to consider. Before you print, and printing costs money, decide if this document really needs saving. From there, does it need saved in paper format OR can it be saved in a well organized computer file system. Notice I said WELL ORGANIZED COMPUTER FILE SYSTEM. Only if you will use the paper document and need paper copy should it be printed. Learn the concept of print, save in files or the BIG Delete button.

There are things that every make money online home business needs in their office, regardless of the type of business.

Standard supplies are:

Calendar, Hand Carried Day-Timer, Palm Pilot or Blackberry

Address Book or Rolodex

Mail Baskets (In and Out to be mailed)

Pens, pencils, ruler, 3 hole punch and a 1 hole punch, paper clips and tacks

Trash Can

Paper Shredder

Desk and Comfortable Chair (I like a rolling chair between Desk and Computer Desk)

Computer Desk, Computer, Combined Printer & Fax Machine

File folders with either Filing Cabinet or Hanging File Plastic Bins

White Board & Cork Board

Cell phone, Answering Service and possibly a separate Biz phone line

Step Two: Be specific on what is your home office space if there is no door. You will need clear and defined boundaries.

Step Three: Make sure your phone system has everything your business will need. Each home business and owner will have different needs. You might want to consider: unlimited local and long distance, voice mail (that can be picked up from home or when you are traveling), check their extra features and see what is best like call forwarding, three way calling, etc.

Step Four: Set up the filing system on your computer. This is a MUST and if you start with a plan your life will be so much easier. It helps to take paper and pen and design a file system for your computer.

Step Five: Set up a filing system for email accounts. Some businesses end up with a large number of emails, each for a different purpose.

Step Six: You will need a system for your pass codes and user names, what business or task they are tied too. I have a hard copy made in excel on a clip board, major ones on note pad on the desk top for must used so I can copy and paste. And a copy of excl doc both in the computer files AND backed up in a fire proof box. Loose those files and you are in deep trouble.

Any make money online business worth pursuing will take planning, diligence and consistency. Your home based business can be the success you want it to be as long as you remember to stay very organized.

The use of the internet and all the new technology allows home business to work with people all over the world, even in different languages with the automatic translators that are built into web programs. True entrepreneurs and at home professionals come from ever ethnic group and area of the world. Are you ready to take your piece of the American Pie?

It is not an impossialbe dream. It is wise to work with a Franchise and to allign yoursef with a team and mentor that has your best interest in mind. That will save you a lot of time and money, to be working with people that are already successfully able to make money online in their chosen business.

Ok, so you have found that unique home based business opportunity and now you are stuck on what to do next. Your top priority is to learn how to drive massive amounts of traffic to your website. The following article will help.

Can you really attract thousands of unique visitors to your web site from scratch? It must be remembered that this is not a dishonest maneuver since it is really possible to do this. Secondly, never underestimate this estimation, as these are laser focused visitors who are highly likely to turn into clients. The way I look at it is that these targeted visitors should be taken to some place. The best place to take them to is your own home based business web site but if you do not have yet, you might as well work towards building one soon. Now that I have mentioned this, there are 2 tips to generate huge traffic.

Search for keywords, which you can rule over

If the idea of passing a few hours a day on research does not excite you too much, you ought to listen to this. One of the things, which you simply cannot avoid, is research for keywords and this should be your number one priority. The other way of looking at it is to visit forums and research for keywords. This is truly the best thing to do for anyone from the novices level to the intermediate level (when you have less than 2500 traffic hits to your website per month). Passing even 5 hours a week doing great thorough keyword research on long tail keywords that you can dominate is a healthy investment of your time. There is of course another option to employ the services of someone to do this job, but aren’t you the person who knows his market better? All you need to do is to put yourself in the shoes of your customer and think what words he or she would type to locate answers on the internet for his/her typical problem and you could easily land up with 100 keywords in no time.

Massive Action In Your Traffic Strategy (Writing).

I read sometime long back that to become an authority on any theme, you have to be an writer first, and this still holds true that you have to write some thing to generate traffic. It is a fact that authors also make healthy speakers and some speakers are very highly paid, sometimes ,000 an hour simply to speak on some topic. In case you are in a dilemma whether it would be possible for you to write a small paragraph of text, read this. You can do it because you are already writing everyday just that you write it verbally. You are talking so much every day, to your friends, colleagues, loved ones and sometimes even to your pets.

How To Become A Writer

Just write like you talk and you can start writing and performing content based traffic generation strategies like press releases, article marketing, content generation with your websites to do SEO. Within a short span of time you would be surprised that there is actually more than 4500 traffic hits to your internet site.

You may be just doing alright with your home based business opportunity but would you like to build your business like clockwork without having to recruit constantly. A team of like minded people have found a company that helps them do that and they are building their business month in and month out. How is that? They have found a company that allows them to purchase customers. So, depending on your budget, you can determine how fast you want to build your business by buying customers every month.
